Thoothukudi Macaroons

Thoothukudi Macaroon

The native chefs of Thoothukudi created a unique and tastier version of Macaroons that melts inside your mouth. The combined taste of quality cashews, almonds, and egg white never fails to surprise us with its sweetness.

Macaroons are the magic of Thoothukudi! Being crunchy, sweet, and nutritious makes them unique and special. These are the solid version of cotton candies but are healthy. You know what we mean.

Thoothukudi macaroons are basically originated in Europe and Indianised in Thoothukudi by Mr. Arunachalam Pillai, the one who introduced this delicacy to Tamil Nadu.

The origin story of Thoothukudi Macaroons by the local legends is that the Portuguese sailors who came to Thoothukudi used local labor for baking Macaroons and were improvised to the one we are familiar with by Mr. Arunachalam.
